I have a small sanctuary for some rather unadoptable cats and dogs — feral, feline leukemia positive, etc. I was recently laid off from my job as a web designer. My biggest concern right now is finding the work I need to buy the more than 1,000 pounds of dog and cat food I go through each month. It is NOT on my radar to give up the “kids.” I do not even think that way, but rather seek ways to make money. I am sorry people view the life of their companions as expendable… and maybe in some cases all avenues have been exhausted.
